Elon Musk’s xAI has secured $10 billion in funding, split equally between debt and equity, to accelerate development of its Grok chatbot and a massive AI data center. Morgan Stanley confirmed the deal this week.
The Details:
$5 billion raised via debt and $5 billion through a strategic equity transaction
Morgan Stanley says the structure reduces capital costs and broadens access to funding
Funds will fuel Grok (xAI’s flagship chatbot) and construction of a massive data center
The raise follows a $6 billion round in December from firms like Sequoia, Fidelity, and Nvidia
Total capital raised by xAI now stands at approximately $17 billion

Amazon just crossed 1 million warehouse robots. And now, it’s powering all of them with a new generative AI model called DeepFleet to speed up logistics and cut delivery costs.
The Details:
The millionth robot was deployed in Japan, joining a fleet spread across 300+ Amazon facilities
DeepFleet, Amazon’s new AI model, boosts robot efficiency by 10% by optimizing route coordination
Amazon’s robots now do everything from lifting 1,250 pounds to navigating warehouse floors autonomously
The company says its most advanced robotic center in Louisiana increased hiring by 30% in engineering roles
Despite this, Amazon has cut over 27,000 jobs since 2022 and expects its overall workforce to shrink
