SPACEX & CURSOR

SpaceX is acquiring AI coding startup Cursor in a massive $60 billion all-stock deal, giving Elon Musk a major foothold in one of AI’s fastest-growing markets.

The Details:

  • SpaceX will acquire Anysphere, the company behind Cursor, in a transaction valued at $60 billion

  • The acquisition follows SpaceX’s recent IPO and strengthens its position in enterprise AI software through its AI division, xAI.

  • Cursor is one of the world’s most popular AI coding platforms, helping developers write, edit, and debug software with AI assistance.

  • The startup reportedly generates around $2.6 billion in annual revenue and is used across thousands of enterprises.

  • SpaceX believes Cursor can accelerate development of future Grok and xAI products while expanding its enterprise software business.

  • The deal is expected to close in Q3 2026 and includes significant breakup and regulatory protection clauses.

  • Following the announcement, SpaceX shares surged, pushing the company past Amazon in market value.

Why it matters:

AI coding has become one of the first AI categories generating billions in real revenue. By acquiring Cursor, SpaceX isn’t just buying a coding tool. It’s buying a direct path into the enterprise AI market and a powerful asset to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic.

ARTIFICIAL GENERAL ENGINEER

Jeff Bezos has unveiled Prometheus, a new AI company focused on building what it calls an “Artificial General Engineer” capable of designing complex products from idea to manufacturing.

The Details:

  • Prometheus emerged from stealth with a massive $12 billion funding round, giving the company a valuation of about $41 billion

  • The startup is led by Jeff Bezos and former Google executive Vik Bajaj

  • Its goal is to build an Artificial General Engineer, an AI system that can help design and manufacture complex physical products.

  • Target applications include jet engines, spacecraft, medical devices, semiconductors, and industrial equipment

  • Unlike chatbot-focused AI companies, Prometheus is betting on engineering, manufacturing, and the physical economy

  • Investors include JPMorgan, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, DST Global, and Bezos himself

  • Bezos says the goal is to dramatically shorten the time it takes to invent, design, and bring products to market.

Why it matters:

Most AI companies are building systems that generate text, images, or code. Prometheus is aiming at something much bigger: AI that helps invent and engineer real-world products, potentially transforming industries from aerospace to healthcare.

SALESFORCE

Salesforce is buying Fin, the AI customer service platform formerly known as Intercom, in a $3.6 billion deal to strengthen its enterprise AI ambitions.

The Details:

  • Fin offers AI agents that can resolve customer support requests across chat, WhatsApp, SMS, phone calls, Slack, and other channels

  • Salesforce plans to integrate Fin’s technology into Agentforce, its platform for building enterprise AI agents

  • Fin recently launched Apex, a new AI model, alongside Operator, an internal AI agent system for customer support automation

  • Fin co-founder Eoghan McCabe will remain CEO after the acquisition, while the leadership team will continue running product development

  • Salesforce says the acquisition will help businesses deploy AI agents faster and improve customer service automation at scale

  • The deal is expected to close in Salesforce’s fiscal Q4 2027

Why it matters:

If successful, OpenAI’s 2028 milestone could mark a turning point for science itself. Autonomous AI researchers would not just assist — they’d create, accelerating discovery in ways that could reshape entire industries.

AI TUTORIAL

Tired of clunky, "blobby" AI 3D assets? MeshGPT is changing the game by generating clean, production-ready models that look like they were made by a human artist.

Steps to Follow:

  1. Head over to MeshGPT.io to get started with their latest research demo.

  2. Describe the object you need (e.g., "a chair," "a bicycle," or "a helmet") clearly in the text box.

  3. Click generate; the AI will "write" the 3D shape by assembling geometric triangles into a clean, coherent structure.

  4. Unlike standard AI generators, the output will be compact and feature sharp, human-like edges.

  5. Once you’re satisfied, export the model as an .obj or compatible file format to use in Blender, Unreal Engine, or Unity.

It’s the fastest way to get high-fidelity 3D assets that are actually ready for your projects.
