OpenAI says an internal AI system has produced a solution to the Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem, one of the seven famous Millennium Prize Problems.

🔍 The Details:

  • The Navier-Stokes problem has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years and asks whether equations describing the motion of fluids can develop singularities under certain conditions.

  • OpenAI deployed around 10,000 AI agents in parallel, allowing them to exchange ideas, run calculations, use tools, and explore possible proof strategies.

  • The system consumed roughly 130 billion tokens, exchanged around 2.7 million messages, and arrived at its proposed solution after approximately 88 hours of computation.

  • The result shows that three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations can develop a finite-time singularity, meaning a smooth fluid solution can mathematically “blow up” rather than remain smooth forever.

  • OpenAI then used GPT-6 Astra for another 17 hours to formalize and verify the result in Lean, producing a machine-checkable proof alongside a detailed research paper.

📌 Why It Matters:

Only one of the seven Millennium Prize Problems had previously been solved, making this potentially one of the most significant AI-assisted mathematical results yet. The proof still faces scrutiny from the broader mathematics community, but it shows AI systems moving from solving benchmarks to attacking problems at the frontier of human knowledge.

If 10,000 AI agents can crack a 90-year-old math problem, an AI agent can probably handle your lead review too. Here's one worth two minutes of your time 👇

OpenAI has officially launched GPT-6 Astra, its most capable model yet, built for coding, research, computer use, cybersecurity, and complex multi-step work.

🔍 The Details

  • Astra is designed to handle end-to-end professional tasks, including documents, spreadsheets, presentations, software engineering, and research.

  • OpenAI says it scores 98% on FrontierMath Tier 4, 99.9% on ARC-AGI-3, and 100% on ExploitBench.

  • The model brings major improvements in computer and browser use, allowing it to work across more complex real-world workflows.

  • It also reaches OpenAI’s highest cybersecurity capability tier yet, leading to stronger monitoring and additional safeguards around autonomous behavior.

  • Astra is rolling out first to a limited group, with broader access planned for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise, plus the API, Azure, and AWS Bedrock.

📌 Why It Matters

GPT-6 Astra pushes ChatGPT further beyond answering questions toward actually completing complex work. The bigger shift is autonomy: models are becoming capable enough to research, code, operate software, and execute long workflows with far less human guidance

META

Meta has launched Muse, a personal AI agent built to move beyond chat and actually complete tasks across the web and connected apps.

🔍 The Details

  • Muse can connect to email, calendars, payments, shopping, health, smart-home services, Instagram, and other apps, with users controlling what it can access.

  • Powered by Muse Spark, it can browse websites, fill forms, send emails, book travel, make purchases, create documents, and continue working after the app is closed.

  • Each agent runs inside a persistent Muse Secure VM, essentially giving Muse its own cloud computer and browser.

  • A separate Sentinel agent monitors its actions and can block activity or request approval before sensitive steps like sending emails or making payments.

  • Muse is rolling out first in the US across iOS, Android, web, and WhatsApp, with free access plus $20 and $100 monthly plans. Meta says AI-glasses support is coming next.

📌 Why It Matters

Meta is turning AI from something you talk to into something that can actively operate your digital life. With WhatsApp, Instagram, and eventually AI glasses in the mix, Muse could give Meta a major distribution advantage in the race for personal AI agents.
