Meta is pouring tens of millions of dollars into a new super PAC, the American Technology Excellence Project, to oppose state-level AI regulations it believes could slow innovation. The move escalates Silicon Valley’s push to shape the AI policy landscape.

The PAC will be bipartisan, run by GOP strategist Brian Baker and Democratic firm Hilltop Public Solutions

China is stepping up its AI talent war. Tencent has reportedly hired Yao Shunyu, a top OpenAI researcher, offering a package worth 100M yuan ($14M+) to bring him over to Shenzhen.
