Meta is reportedly exploring a multi-billion dollar investment in Scale AI, signaling a major shift from in-house AI development to strategic external bets in the rapidly accelerating AI race.
The Details:
Meta is in talks to invest over $10 billion in Scale AI, a startup known for data labeling and model evaluation services.
If finalized, it would be one of the largest private investments ever made in an AI company.
Scale AI, co-founded by Alexander Wang, counts Meta and OpenAI among its existing clients and is projected to double revenue to $2 billion in 2024.
The potential deal marks a rare move for Meta, which has historically relied on internal AI research.
Meta and Scale AI also collaborate on āDefense Llama,ā a military-focused language model project, deepening their alignment.
Why it matters:
As AI becomes the new tech battleground, Meta is opening its wallet to keep pace with rivals like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. A $10B bet on Scale AI could fast-track Metaās enterprise and defense AI goals, and solidify its stake in the evolving AI infrastructure landscape.

Amazon is taking a major step toward automating last-mile delivery with humanoid robots. A new test facility will train AI-powered bots to ride in electric vans and deliver packages directly to your door.
The Details:
Amazon is building a āhumanoid parkā in San Francisco to train robots for delivery, featuring a full-size Rivian van and obstacle course.
The robots will learn to ride in Rivian vans and exit to deliver packages, mimicking human delivery workers
Amazonās new agentic AI team is developing software that allows robots to understand natural language and perform flexible logistics tasks.
The test group includes multiple robot models, including a $16,000 humanoid unit from Chinaās Unitree and Agility Roboticsā Digit robot.
This move aligns with Amazonās broader automation efforts, including its 2020 acquisition of robotaxi company Zoox.
Why it matters:
Amazonās vision for fully automated delivery is no longer sci-fi. With AI-powered humanoids trained to handle the last mile, the company could reduce its massive delivery workforce and gain full control over logistics. Itās a glimpse at the future of e-commerce ā fast, efficient, and increasingly autonomous.
