Claude Fable 5 is Anthropic’s first public Mythos-class model, previously available only to a small group of partners. 

Anthropic says Fable 5 is its most capable generally available model, outperforming previous Claude models in coding, reasoning, analytics, and vision tasks. 

The model is designed for long-running, autonomous work, handling tasks that can take hours or even days to complete. 

In high-risk areas like cybersecurity, biology, and chemistry, Fable 5 automatically falls back to Claude Opus 4.8 instead of answering directly. 

Anthropic also released Claude Mythos 5, but only to approved organizations through its Project Glasswing program. 

The company introduced stricter safety measures, including mandatory traffic retention policies to monitor novel attacks and jailbreak attempts. 

Fable 5 is available through the Claude API, Enterprise plans, Amazon Bedrock, and other enterprise platforms.  

Altman is backing Alfred, a robotics startup developing software for robots, autonomous vehicles, and industrial systems 

The company has recruited engineers from Tesla, Meta, Ford, Honda, and other hardware-focused firms 

OpenAI has restarted robotics hiring and is actively building teams focused on bringing AI into the physical world

Altman recently described robotics as one of the most important long-term opportunities for AI 

Early efforts are expected to focus on industrial work, infrastructure projects, and data-center construction 

The broader vision includes robots that can perform everyday physical tasks alongside humans

The move places Altman in direct competition with robotics efforts from Tesla, Meta, Nvidia, Figure, and others 

OpenAI is in advanced talks to lease a proposed 10-gigawatt AI data center campus on federal land in Ohio. 

Nvidia is reportedly discussing providing financial backing and credit support for the project. 

The campus is being developed by SB Energy and could require a long-term lease running for roughly 20 years. 

Reports suggest the full project could cost more than $500 billion when infrastructure, power, and AI hardware are included. 

10GW facility would be larger than the combined capacity planned across several existing AI data center projects. 

The first phase is expected to begin operations around 2028 if the deal moves forward. 

The site is tied to a broader Ohio technology campus project that includes new power generation and transmission infrastructure.  

OpenAI’s AI chip project with Broadcom reportedly stalled after Broadcom requested Microsoft commit to buying 40% of the first “Jalapeno” chips. The custom hardware is meant to reduce OpenAI’s inference costs, but without Microsoft’s backing, the company may need new partners or financing terms.

Meta is reportedly developing an AI assistant called Hatch that can perform tasks autonomously instead of simply answering questions. The company is also preparing AI-powered Instagram shopping tools to help users discover and purchase products conversationally before year-end.

Alibaba plans to connect Qwen AI directly with Taobao and Tmall, enabling users to browse and purchase products through conversation. The system will support over 4 billion listings alongside delivery tracking, virtual try-ons, after-sales help, and price monitoring.

Anthropic is reportedly considering raising up to $50 billion at a valuation approaching $1 trillion. Investors are attracted by rapid revenue growth, though the capital is also needed to fund the enormous compute and infrastructure costs of frontier AI.

Perplexity launched its new Mac app featuring “Personal Computer,” enabling AI agents to interact with local files, Mac apps, and the web. The system shifts AI workflows from cloud-only experiences toward persistent desktop automation running directly on users’ devices.

OpenAI released a Chrome extension for Codex that automates repetitive browser tasks across tabs and websites. The tool combines browser controls, plugins, and coding capabilities to handle workflows involving dashboards, research, and logged-in web services.

Cloudflare is laying off around 1,100 employees despite record revenue growth, saying AI-driven productivity gains reduced the need for many support roles. The company claims AI tools have dramatically accelerated software development and operational efficiency.
