OPENAI
OpenAI has launched Computer History, an optional macOS feature that lets ChatGPT and Codex remember activity across selected apps and websites and use it as context in future tasks.
🔍 The Details:
Computer History creates a timeline from activity across selected apps and websites.
OpenAI says it records interaction events, not screenshots, screen recordings, microphone input, or system audio.
The feature is off by default, and users choose which apps and websites can contribute.
Users can pause collection, review timeline items, and delete individual memories.
Private browsing activity is automatically excluded.
Computer History is currently available on macOS for ChatGPT Pro, Business, and Enterprise users.
📌 Why It Matters:
ChatGPT is moving from remembering conversations to remembering parts of your actual workflow. That could make it far more useful for ongoing work, but it also raises the importance of clear privacy controls around what AI assistants can observe and retain.

APPLE

Apple has developed its own large language model specifically for China, with help from Alibaba, as it prepares to finally bring Apple Intelligence to one of its most important markets.
🔍 The Details
Apple reportedly trained the China-specific model itself, while Alibaba provided technical support.
The China version of Apple Intelligence is expected to use a dual-model setup, combining Apple’s model with Alibaba’s Qwen.
Baidu technology may also support some AI features.
Apple Intelligence has reportedly cleared an important regulatory step with China’s Cyberspace Administration.
The rollout is expected to cover iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro.
📌 Why It Matters
Apple Intelligence may not run on the same AI stack everywhere. China’s regulations are pushing Apple to build a separate AI system, partner with local companies, and adapt its strategy for one of its biggest markets.
OPENAI
OpenAI’s annualized revenue run rate has climbed above $40 billion, roughly doubling from more than $20 billion at the end of 2025.
🔍 The Details
OpenAI is now on track for more than $40 billion in annualized revenue, meaning its current sales pace would generate that amount over a full year.
The company ended 2025 above a $20 billion annualized run rate, putting its revenue growth at roughly 2x in less than a year.
OpenAI President Greg Brockman said the company’s revenue run rate jumped more than 20% month over month in July alone.
Growth is being driven by Codex, ChatGPT Work, consumer subscriptions, enterprise customers, and OpenAI’s emerging advertising business.
The milestone comes as OpenAI prepares for a potential IPO and battles Anthropic, which said in May that its own annualized revenue run rate had surpassed $47 billion, though the companies may calculate the metric differently.
📌 Why It Matters
OpenAI is proving that demand for AI is translating into massive commercial growth, not just user adoption. But with infrastructure and model-training costs still enormous, turning a $40B revenue run rate into sustainable profits will be the next challenge.
