OpenAI’s young advertising business has already reached a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate, roughly 200 days after ads first started appearing in ChatGPT.

🔍 The Details:

  • OpenAI began testing ChatGPT ads in the US in February 2026, and the business crossed a $100 million annualized run rate within its first six weeks.

  • ChatGPT ads have now expanded to more than 40 countries, with OpenAI opening its self-serve Ads Manager to advertisers across India, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

  • Ads currently appear on the Free and Go plans, while OpenAI says advertisements remain clearly separated from responses and do not influence ChatGPT’s answers.

  • Tens of thousands of advertisers are reportedly using the platform, with small and medium-sized businesses now representing a meaningful share of the ad business.

  • The $1 billion figure is an annualized run rate, not $1 billion already earned this year, and represents about 2.5% of OpenAI’s roughly $40 billion total annualized revenue.

📌 Why It Matters:

OpenAI is rapidly building a major revenue stream beyond subscriptions, enterprise contracts, and API usage. If ChatGPT ads continue scaling globally, advertising could become an increasingly important part of how OpenAI monetizes its massive consumer audience.

Before the next story: useful if you sell online and want AI to manage more of your store.

Stop Paying for 10 Tools. One AI Does It All.

Most e-commerce sellers are running their store across 6 to 10 separate tools — and spending more time managing software than growing their business. StoreClaw replaces your entire stack with one autonomous AI engine that monitors competitors, optimizes listings, automates marketing, and tracks real profit across Shopify, Amazon, and beyond.

It doesn't wait for you to ask. It runs 24/7 in the background, so you wake up to a full dashboard instead of a list of things you forgot to check.

Connect your store, and StoreClaw gets to work — no prompts, no complex setup, no six-app stack.

Google Research has introduced TimesFM-3, a new AI foundation model built to forecast multiple connected time series at once, without requiring task-specific fine-tuning

🔍 The Details

  • TimesFM-3 has 330 million parameters and was pretrained on more than 1 trillion time points from real and synthetic datasets.

  • Unlike TimesFM-2.5, which focused on single time series, the new model supports native multivariate forecasting.

  • It can forecast multiple related signals together while also using factors like past traffic, promotions, weather forecasts, and future events.

  • The model generates the full forecast horizon in a single forward pass, helping reduce latency and error accumulation.

  • Google says TimesFM-3 ranked first among pretrained foundation models across Gift-Eval, FEV-Bench, and Time for both point and probabilistic forecasting.

  • The model is available now on GitHub and Hugging Face, with BigQuery integration coming later.

📌 Why It Matters

TimesFM-3 could make advanced forecasting much easier for businesses. Instead of building separate models for sales, demand, finance, manufacturing, or traffic, teams can use one pretrained model that understands how multiple signals influence each other.

OPENAI VS SPACEX

OpenAI says it will end its agreement providing models to Cursor after the coding startup was acquired by SpaceX, escalating the long-running conflict between OpenAI and Elon Musk.

🔍 The Details

  • OpenAI plans to stop providing models to Cursor on November 12, 2026.

  • The company is using a change-of-control clause triggered by SpaceX’s acquisition of Anysphere.

  • OpenAI says the decision is tied to concerns around working with Musk-owned companies and enforcing its commercial terms.

  • Cursor says OpenAI models account for only a small share of its overall model usage, so the immediate impact may be limited.

  • The company can still rely on other providers, including Anthropic’s Claude models, as it shifts away from OpenAI.

📌 Why It Matters

AI companies are no longer competing only on model quality. Access itself is becoming leverage. As platforms like Cursor sit between developers and multiple model providers, ownership changes can suddenly decide which models users get to access.
