ANTHROPIC

Anthropic has tightened how Claude can be used, cutting off subscription access for third-party AI agents like OpenClaw as demand and costs surge.

The Details:

  • Claude subscriptions no longer support heavy third-party tools like OpenClaw under standard plans.

  • Users must now switch to pay-as-you-go pricing or use a separate Claude API key for these workflows.

  • The restriction will expand to all third-party “agent” tools, not just OpenClaw.

  • Anthropic said these tools put an “outsized strain” on systems due to continuous, autonomous usage patterns.

  • The move follows a surge in Claude demand and rising compute costs, forcing tighter control over usage.

Why it matters:

This marks a turning point for AI agents. Flat subscriptions are breaking under real-world usage, and companies are moving toward strict, usage-based pricing. The era of cheap, always-on AI agents is starting to close.

Google has launched Gemma 4, its most capable open AI model family yet, designed to bring powerful reasoning and multimodal AI to everything from phones to data centers.

The Details:

  • Gemma 4 is built on the same research as Gemini and optimized for efficiency and local deployment.

  • Comes in four variants: E2B, E4B, 26B MoE, and 31B, covering mobile to high-performance workloads.

  • Supports multimodal input including text, image, and in smaller models, audio.

  • Offers long context windows up to 256K tokens for handling large documents and codebases.

  • Released under an open license, enabling developers to run, modify, and deploy models locally.

Why it matters:

Google is pushing AI beyond the cloud. With Gemma 4, powerful models can now run locally on everyday devices, opening the door to cheaper, faster, and more private AI experiences.

The Details:

  • Uers can now generate AI videos for free using Veo 3.1, with up to 10 clips per month.

  • Videos can be created from simple text prompts or images, removing the need for editing tools.

  • Custom AI avatars can be added, styled, and placed into scenes with full control.

  • New features include screen recording and direct publishing to YouTube from within Vids.

Why it matters:

Google is turning video creation into a one-click experience. By making AI video and music free, it is pushing content creation from complex tools to something anyone can use instantly.
