AMAZON
Amazon is dramatically expanding Prime Air, with plans to bring autonomous drone deliveries to nearly 500 U.S. cities and towns by the end of 2026, a sixfold increase from its current footprint.
🔍 The Details:
Prime Air will expand from 11 current delivery sites to communities reaching tens of millions of U.S. customers.
Amazon’s MK30 drones can autonomously deliver eligible packages weighing 5 pounds or less, including groceries, electronics, cosmetics, medications, and household products.
Deliveries can arrive in as little as 30 minutes, with each hub generally serving customers within roughly a 7.5-mile radius.
The MK30 uses Amazon’s Detect-and-Avoid system, combining onboard cameras and sensors to monitor airspace and make navigation and safety decisions without a human pilot controlling each flight.
Prime Air has already delivered hundreds of thousands of packages in 2026, with upcoming expansion including areas around Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Boise, and Syracuse.
📌 Why It Matters:
After more than a decade of development, Amazon is moving drone delivery from a limited experiment toward mainstream logistics. If the rollout succeeds, getting small everyday items by air in under an hour could become a normal part of Amazon delivery.

MICRON

Micron is launching Micron Research Labs, a new long-term research institution headquartered in Boise, Idaho, backed by a planned $10 billion investment over the next decade.
🔍 The Details
The new hub will focus on next-generation memory technologies, advanced memory and compute architectures, semiconductor packaging, and future chip manufacturing.
Micron plans to break ground on its flagship Boise research facility in 2027, with space for hundreds of researchers.
The $10 billion will also fund university collaborations, global satellite labs, startups, and semiconductor ecosystem partnerships.
Research will look beyond current technology roadmaps, including technologies with a 10+ year development horizon for future AI systems.
The investment is separate from Micron’s previously announced $250+ billion commitment to U.S. manufacturing and R&D, which the company expects to support more than 90,000 jobs.
📌 Why It Matters
AI models are pushing memory bandwidth, capacity, and energy efficiency to their limits. Micron is betting that the next major leap in AI won’t come from compute alone, but from fundamentally new memory architectures built alongside it.
META
Meta is expanding Pocket to users in the US, giving people a new way to create small interactive games and experiences simply by describing what they want with AI.
🔍 The Details
Pocket lets users vibe-code games and interactive experiences from text prompts, without needing traditional programming skills.
Creations inside the app are called “gizmos” and can be played, modified, and shared with other Pocket users.
The app includes a scrollable discovery feed, turning AI-generated games into social content that users can instantly play rather than just watch.
Pocket grew out of Meta’s acquisition of the team behind Gizmo, an AI-powered platform that had accumulated more than 635,000 installs across iOS and Android.
After initially launching in Brazil, Meta is now bringing Pocket to US users as part of its broader push into AI-powered creation and social experiences.
📌 Why It Matters
Meta is turning vibe coding into a consumer product rather than just a developer tool. If Pocket catches on, creating a small game could become as easy and social as creating and sharing a post.
